School/Work

My schedule for school and work is a disaster. They are both crammed together in a four day week. Everyday it's 9:00am to 6:00pm or 10:00pm. There's not enough time to post any updates.

Paper Hearts

Last night Vanessa and I ate dinner at Naga Naga Ramen. After we went to watch Paper Hearts at the Regency Academy Cinemas 6 theater in Pasadena. We had a wonderful night. The ramen at Naga Naga wasn't tasty and a little overpriced. Naga Naga is a new restaurant that opened up so we wanted to give it a chance. There's definitely better ramen at other places so I think we won't be going back. Our time at the movie more than made up for the money we spent at Naga Naga. It only cost us $3 a ticket to get into the movie theater. Vanessa and I have agreed that we will watch new movies there from now on. They get movies a little late and their theater is not so fancy but I like the small venue and cheap ticket price. I'm definitely going back to watch Zombieland when it comes out.

Sweet Sunday

As I'm writing this I am eagerly waiting for the Roger Federer US Open Semifinal match. I just finished watching the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals play an amazing game. With 38 seconds left Denver's Brandon Stokely made a lucky catch and ran the ball to the endzone. I was rooting for Cincinnati to win because they made an excellent drive toward the end of the fourth quarter but Denver was destined to win. They need to hurry and start the US Open match.

In The Yay Area

I've been in San Jose for about a week now. Vanessa and I came up here to visit her family and friends. Since I've been here all I've done is eat, sleep, and party. Not so much partying more sleeping and eating. That's why my stomach is starting to look jello-y everyday. I have a few more days before I go back home to LA. My goal is to lose all of the extra weight that I gain while I was here. That means extra laps around the park and cutting back on large portions of food.

Yesterday was an exciting day. I went to the nearest comic book store in San Jose. The place was call Hijinx Comics. It was a great store with awesome selection of books. There's a few things I liked about the store. The first being the layout of the store. Even though it was a small place it made use of every single space it had. The comic area was basically a circle but if you looked to the left you had comics and to the right graphic novels. There was even enough room for a small bench-like chair in the middle of the aisle. That chair is awesome if you want to sit down and read a little bit. My other comic book store back room only lets you stand around and doesn't allow much reading. They let me anyways because I'm a loyal customer and because I spent over $200 almost every month there. The other reason why I like Hijinx Comics is because they have back issues of a lot of comics. I'm guessing they don't get many customers so their stock is not heavy. They probably get a bunch of older comic book collectors who read stuff that I don't read so that's a win. Overall it was a great experience when visiting the shop. I plan on going back to that comic book store whenever I'm up here.

I'm leaving back home on Monday.

Websites

As of now I'm in the process of creating 5 websites. I'm trying to have them all done before school starts in a month. I'll be making a portfolio website, flash website, blog, store, and another portfolio for Vanessa. Even if I put in several hours a day I think I won't finish all of them. My goal is to probably finish the portfolio and flash website. Those two are the most time consuming. The others just require me to rearrange code. I hope I have enough time to finish the rest when school starts.

Ankle Injury Part 2

It has been about a month now and my ankle still hasn't healed. I think the reason why is because I'm practicing with my injured ankle. It has gotten a lot better than before but hasn't fully healed yet. The ankle is swollen a bit and I feel pain up and down the leg. I hate that I can't practice and work out. This summer I was planning to get my body to look like BJ Penn and have moves like Wing from Jinjo. That's not going to happen. My visit to the gymnastic place messed it all up. I'm never going there again. The only upside to this problem is that I've been able to read and write a lot. I don't want to move around as much because I want to give my leg some rest. By sitting down I'm also getting fat which isn't good. I wish my ankle would just heal already. Damnit!
